Swatch and Review: SinfulColors Get it On and Strapped

Happy Hump Day, all!

Today, I have two shades from SinfulColors' new Leather Luxe collection for the fall, which is exclusively available at Walgreens!

First up is Get it On, a tomato red matte polish. The above is with two coats.

Now, for those of you who have been following me for a while, you'll know I'm not a huge fan of the matte trend. I'm really picky about the shades that I like.

However, this was a stunner as soon as I put it on. It's highly pigmented, but its matte finish has a frosty feel to it that makes it wintry and I'm obsessed.

Even Queen Polish (aka: my mother) was in love!

The second shade is Strapped, a seafoam green. The above is with three coats.

I really liked Strapped a lot, as well. It has a delicateness to it that reminds me of the waters of the Caribbean. It has the same frosty finish as Get It On and I adored it.

I've heard from others that this is a stainer, but I used my regular base coat and didn't have a problem at all.

Overall, these two polishes were awesome! Get It On is my clear favorite, but Strapped was really pretty too. I foresee doing some Christmas nail art with these two! They'd look so nice with some silver on them, too!

The Leather Luxe collection is currently available at Walgreens for $2.99.

Clearly, I love these two. What do you think?

Subscription Sunday: October 2013 Bark Box

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been slow to post lately... law school and an internship are taking over most of my time. But I'm really trying to swatch as much as possible!

Today, I have for you the October Barkbox, which both of my girls are obsessed with! One of the cool things about Barkbox is that not only do they make boxes for dogs, but they also make them for cats!

Right now, there is also a $10 off your first box coupon. So you can click here and enter the code: ROIGBBX1 to receive your box for just $19! A donation will also be made to Romp Rescue, so it's a big win all around!

First up in the Barkbox is the bumi ZogoFlex!

This is the large sized ZogoFlex, which retails for $13.25. The girls LOVED this because it gives them a great solo toy and also an awesome tug toy.

See what I mean?

Plus, if I step on it, I don't start screaming. So that's a bonus haha.

Next up is the Fetch&Glow, a glow in the dark ball, which retails for $10.49.

It's soft, but durable and as you can see on the package, it also floats. The only downside is that in order to glow, it has to be exposed to sunlight for a few hours. But since it mainly stays inside the house for my dogs, that's not really an issue for me.

Here is the first of two treats in this month's BarkBox, the Autumn Harvest treats from Baker's Best. These treats retail for $8.

The main protein in these are goal liver, which is a strong alternative for dogs with allergies. They're also gluten free.

At press time, these were gone. So, that should speak for itself!

Here are the Fruitables Halloween Dog Treats, which retail for $6.

These totally reminded me of the little pretzel packages my mom always bought around Halloween. I had intended on handing these out to any dogs that came by for Trick or Treaters, but they didn't last that long.

Instead, I kept these in the top drawer of my polish Melmer to bribe Brynn out from underneath my bed when I'm ready to go to bed. They ran out last night and we were both very sad.

Here is a Crunchy Rabbit Chew from Etta Says, which retails for $2.50.

I've been saving the Duck Chew from April's box for a while for a day I need to keep Dakota occupied. But now, I have two so I can keep both Dakota AND Brynn occupied.

Dakota was very interested...

Overall, this was an AWESOME Barkbox. We got over $40 worth of fun stuff in here and the Fetch&Glow and ZogoFlex will last us a long time. I'd highly recommend any of these products!

Remember, there is a $10 off your first box coupon. So you can click here and enter the code: ROIGBBX1 to receive your box for just $19! A donation will also be made to Romp Rescue, too.

And a final bonus shot of the girls with their ZogoFlex!

Gradient Dot Stripes

Happy Thursday, everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been around a lot the past few weeks. Law school is kicking my butt lately!

But today, I have a unique twist on polka dots and racing stripes. Polka stripe? Perhaps. Though that sounds like a really old record.

For this manicure, I used Zoya Louise from the Cashmere collection and Zoya Giovanna from the Satin collection for the dots. I have a thing lately for jewel tones and neutrals because they seem to compliment each other really well.

This was fairly easy to do, as well. I started at the base of my nail with a large dot and just kept moving in a straight line. As the polish starts to wear on the dotting tool, the dots get smaller. So I just kept with that trend.

What do you thing? Would you rock this mani?

Gold Fleck Racing Stripe

Hi, everyone! Today I'm bringing you some simple and easy nail art!

What I love about this design is that it doesn't require any form of precision. All you need is a base color and a flaky top coat. Remember all of those 24k gold flake top coats that were out there? How about the translucent flakies?

Well, here's your chance to break them out again!

For this manicure, I used Zoya Pepper (from the Cashmere Collection) with Zoya Maria Luisa (from the Satin Collection).

I had been wearing Pepper for a few days by this point and wanted to freshen up my look. So I painted a single stripe of Maria Luise right down the middle. The great thing about flakies is that there is no need to be perfect. They cover up the mistakes because of their sparseness.

So for all of you ladies looking to spruce up your manis this coming weekend, break out your flakies and get ready to race!

Zoya Jewel Tone Circus Dots

Hello again, everyone! Today I'm bringing you some nail art using the Zoya Fall 2013 Collection!

When they first came in the mail, the two that stood out immediately to me were Mason, a metallic magenta, and Giovanna, a metallic teal.

As I was swatching Flynn, a caramel creme shade, I thought about how nice of a contrast there was between the brown and the jewel tones.

Here is the end result and it is one of my favorite color combinations to date!

The contrast between the jewel tones and the neutral is definitely highlighted in the sun. I loved rocking this combo!

More sparkle!

What do you think of this color and design combo? I'm in such a polka dot mood lately!

Mani in Motion: Zoya Dream

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I'm trying something a bit new and different today called a Mani in Motion. Basically, through images on a loop, you can see how a shade looks from shade to sunlight, in both color shift and sparkle.

The first Mani in Motion is Zoya Dream, a royal blue scattered holo polish:

Check out how awesome the movement of the holographic glitter as it catches the sunlight!

What do you think of Dream "in motion?" And do you think I should do this with more shades?

Swatch and Review: Muir Muir on the Wall

Hello, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend!

Today, I have one of the new shades from the OPI San Francisco Collection called Muir Muir on the Wall. It's named for Muir Woods, one of the United States National Parks. Muir Woods is home to a ton of redwood trees, which are some of the tallest in the world!

I actually went to Muir Woods when I was fifteen and it was very beautiful.

Muir Muir on the Wall is a scarlet shimmer polish with a black base...

Swatch and Review: Zoya Irresistible Day 5 - Amy

Day 5 of the Zoya Irresistible Collection is here and brings Amy along with it!

Amy is a juicy coral with orange shimmer. I LOVE this. I'm generally not an orange girl, but I just want to take a bite out of this. The above is with two coats.

An alternate look at Amy!

Are you on board with this citrusy shade?

Swatch and Review - butter LONDON Poole and Champers

Hello, everyone! Today, I have for you two shades from the butter LONDON Summer Holiday Collection: Champers and Poole!

Champers is a beautiful rose gold shimmer polish. Champers is British slang for Champagne... and this is certainly a bubbly color! It was opaque in two coats and applied like, well, butter!

Poole is a robin's egg blue creme that reminds me of my favorite cotton candy ices! The photo is with three coats, though unfortunately, it was a little on the streaky side. But it wasn't too hard to work with.

Overall, I liked the two shades from this collection. These didn't scream summer to me. But I'll definitely be rocking these in the fall!

What do you think of this duo?

Swatch and Review: Zoya Irresistible Day 3 - Bobbi

Hope you're all having a great weekend! The heatwave here in the Northeast has FINALLY broken, so we're all very excited in my house. I never thought I'd be so happy to work in an office building in my LIFE.

Next up in the Zoya Irresistible Week is Bobbi!

Bobbi is a magenta foil, with orange, gold, and silver shimmer. The above is with two coats.

I probably could have gotten away with just one coat, but I like to use two just for the sake of making things even.

What do you think of Bobbi?
