Happy Friday! Today, I have for you six AWESOME new limited edition shades from Milani, including a really fun glitter topper called Carnival. It's named the Fantastical Plumage Collection... God, I love that name! These are a brighter collection, in contrast with the softer Retro Glam Collection.
First up is one of two blues in this collection, called Peacock. Peacock is a sky blue creme that applied like, well, a dream with just two coats.
Peacock with Carnival on top!
Next is Purple Martian, a medium purple creme. I'm a sucker for purple and this reminds me of the Crayola crayon named Purple Mountains Majesty. I loved this so much, I wore it as below for an entire WEEK.
Purple Martian with Carnival!
Here is Scarlet Ibis, a scarlet creme. This is a little more orange in person.
For those of you who don't know, my alma mater is Rutgers University and our mascot is the Scarlet Knight. So I'm a little partial to ANY scarlet. This is a total winner.
And Scarlet Ibis with a Carnival topper is A MAJOR WINNER. Awesome contrast.
Next up is Blue Jay, a Cobalt blue creme. This was so pigmented with just two coats. IN. LOVE.
And with Carnival? Just. Amazeballs.
And last, but certainly not least, is Canary. Canary is, what else, a sunny yellow creme.
And Canary with Carnival as a topper. I LOVED this one too. The contrast of the yellow with the black and white glitter is so pretty.
I really liked this collection for a number of reason. The first is that while these were bright colors, they were all opaque in just two thin coats. Secondly, it seems like Milani really gave some thought as to what shades would work best with the Carnival top coat on the brighter spectrum.
The only downside is that the Carnival sprinkles topper is a little difficult to work with. Even with two coats, I couldn't get a lot of the glitter out. The white hex pieces were especially difficult to find. And it was a shame because the black and white shapes contrasted so nicely with the other colors!
The Fantastical Plumage Collection is available at select CVS and Meijer stores during the month of August.
Please note that some stores might put up the collections before August.
Both collections will also be available online at
www.milanicosmetics.com.
So what are your thoughts on the Fantastical Plumage Collection?

ReplyDeleteLove these colors! They are very "pop art".
ReplyDeleteWow all of these colors are amazing and I can't believe they're opaque in two thin coats!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors of this collection!
ReplyDeleteOMG Scarlet Ibis!!!! LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteThe glitter topcoat looks pretty interesting - it reminds me of the one in the China Glaze Cirque de Soleil collection. I've never tried Milani before, but I'm glad these bigger companies are coming out with indie-type polishes!
ReplyDeleteWow such a pretty bright collection~ The topper looks interesting but like it might be trouble with the larger pieces bending up and coming off like with Hard Candy's Black Tie Optional.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cremes, love purple martian and that topcoat makes it interesting

You called the purple one Purple Martian but it is actually Purple Martin lol. Lovely colors. My favs are Purple Martin, Blue Jay and Peacock. I don't care for the glitter....bar glitter is the bane of my existence lol.
