Swatch & Review: Milani High Speed Fast Dry

Only one day to go until it's the weekend. You're almost there!

Today, I'm going to show you the six new shades of the Milani High Speed Fast Dry collection! The High Speed Fast Dry collection features one-coaters that, you guessed it, dry quicker!

First up is Flaming Race, a tomato red creme. This applied beautifully. I needed two thin coats, but you probably could have gotten away with one thicker coat. Like all but one of the shades in this collection, it wasn't super quick to dry, but it was noticeably quicker than most others I own. This is a great shade for summer and it has already been snagged and hidden away by Queen Polish.

White Pearl is a frosty white shade. This was the only major fail of the collection for me. The brushstrokes are very noticeable and this took three coats for it to be fairly non-streaky. This did dry pretty quickly, but it made it so hard to even out.

Move on Mauve is a frosty mauve polish. Talk about your nineties throwback... I owned this six times over in 1998. But it is very pretty and flattering to my skin tone. I was fairly impressed!

Pink Express is an adorably bright bubblegum creme polish! This applied opaque in two coats with a great formula! This isn't a shade I'd regular wear, but it IS one my sister constantly requests. However, it's really hard to find one that a: isn't streaky and b: doesn't need four coats. Update: This one's it!

Next up is Quick Teal, a (duh) teal creme polish. This was my favorite of the collection. It only needed one coat and it has such pop to it. I love everything about this one.

Last up is Rapid Orchid, a blackened red creme. I LOVE this vampy kind of shade. It stands out in this collection because it's the only non-bright shade. It has a tiny bit of a brown overtone to it, but I don't really mind that. And I love a good vampy polish. This was opaque in one coat!

In the end, I think this was a really solid collection. It had a little bit of everything I could ask for: brights, pastels, and vampy. The dry time could have been a little better and White Pearl was a bit of a clunker. BUT, the formula on the rest was awesome and I think this was a very nice collection that can fit many different needs.

The Milani High Speed Fast Dry collection, including the six new shades, are available at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Winn Dixie, and KMart, as well as a number of other retailers. You can also purchase any shades for $4.99 at Milani's Website.

Okay, ladies... what do you think of the new shades in this line?

  2. Me too, I tend to not like frosty/pearly shades because of the brushstrokes, but all the other colors look really nice! Love your swatches <3
